My is a possessive pronoun (mío/mi, in Spanish -mi without accent-), whereas me is a personal pronoun working as an object (mí, in Spanish -with accent-).

3- Well, you're young. If I had asked my mom to let me meet with online strangers at 18, she would have locked me in my bedroom (?). I did, though, when I was older and I made a husband, and two friends that wanted to date me -- one of them a total loser, the other was kind of decent, but his decency scared me because I actually considered formally dating him, which would have caused havoc at home; funny thing is: I kept myself from dating the decent guy but dated the loser!!
