A plot? Life is not a soup opera, like ER, or Grey's Anatomy. It's like Seinfeld. That's so great about it, that it has no drama or, like Jesucristo (the user) said, the episodes have nothing to do with each other. That's what makes it so realistic.
Well, but people have long term plans and every day is the continue from the other. I'd say that life doesn't have a plot meaning that nobody wrote it (god?). But life is not a senseless mange of days or 'episodes' like Seinfield. What I think makes Seinfield realistic is that it's not something epic, it's not about huge problems that never seem to be solve like shows like Gray's Anatomy, Charmed or any of those soup operas. BUT I think Seinfield has it's non-realistic side. They are not normal! In Sienfield the characters are neurotic, crazy people immersed in a normal, healthy world.

Wrong. That's exactly what makes it so realistic. Many people feel identified with them, but if you don't, don't say that it's not realistic just because you don't think like that.

Per instance, Friends is 90 miles far from Seinfeld, 'cause they love each other, and they would never want to hurt their friends' feelings. But in the other hand, George would have no problem in betraying Elaine.

I always speak from my experiences but I've never met anyone like, say, George. A person that would build one lie over the other for the most stupid and vane things. Like the tic in the arm. I've never met anyone who would fake cancer, either. Have you?

I feel more identified with Seinfeld, though the main characters is surrounded by paranoids, neurotics, and all sorts of weird people. But the thing is: they knew people like that! All those characters are taken from life itself. If you watch the commentaries, they'll say that most of the ideas for the episodes came from real life, from themselves, from friends, etc.

That's right. Actually, Kramer was based in Larry David's Neighbour, Kenny Kramer. But they decided that they couldn't name a character like him, so in the pilot, you can hear Jerry call him "Kessler". But then Kenny caved, and Cosmo Kramer was born...

Yup. That's what Seinfeld is about. That's why I don't like all other sitcoms like Friends and stuff... I think they're so cliché and predictable!

I love Seinfeld. I just wish those laughs weren't there. I also like Scrubs very much, specially since the lack of laughs.

I used to like Scrubs. But then I notice that it was the same as every other hospital drama (General Hospital, Nip Tuck, House, ER, Grey's Anatomy, Days of Our Lives, etc) because despite being a sitcom, it's full of dramatic situation. Like when

or when Elliot broke up with JD.

I kind of like Scrubs. I watch it if I'm bored and there's nothing else to watch! I think that once I got into Seinfeld (not very many years ago) I just couldn't go back to the regular sitcom. My husband LOVES The King od Queens, and I just honestly CAN'T stand the jerk of Dough with his cliché jokes, neither his pathetic wife, Carry.

I like a more subtle kind of humor, like Seinfeld's, like Arrested Development (which doesn't have the laughs, either, and you have to think a little more where the joke is... but anyway, with Seinfeld I stopped noticing the laughs after a while, I don't mind them anymore). I also love Desperate Housewives, I know it's not comedy, but it has its funny parts and no laughs either...
